Emily F. WebsterBuilt in 1957, the hall was named after Emily F. Webster. She was a former teacher at UW Oshkosh from 1875-1926. Webster is unique in that she spent all of her adult years at the University. She was a member of the first graduating class in 1875 and a faculty member for 51 years. She grew up with the Oshkosh Normal School and taught mathematics, Latin and English. Webster never missed a day because of illness. She was also a strict disciplinarian. "Webster bound her students to her by ties that time and age could not destroy." |
